What is biomechanical tattoo?
Biomechanical (or biomech) is a tattoo style that imagines machinery — gears, pistons, cables — integrated into human anatomy, as if the skin opened to reveal robotic parts underneath.
Inspired by H.R. Giger's art, biomech relies on advanced shading and 3D illusion. It works especially well on sleeves and ribs, following the body's curves.
Examples
- Biomech sleeve with exposed gears and cables
- Ribs or chest piece with torn-skin effect revealing pistons
- Calf design blending muscle and machinery
