Definition

What is a tattoo sleeve?

A sleeve is a tattoo (or collection of tattoos tied together) covering the entire arm, from shoulder to wrist. Sleeves can be themed as a single piece or built up over years from smaller tattoos that eventually connect.

Full sleeves typically require 30–60+ hours across many sessions. Planning is critical: artists often sketch the full flow before starting, to ensure the final look reads as a coherent whole.
