What drives the price?
- Artist experience (10+ years of practice = x2)
- Notoriety (Instagram, waiting list)
- Design complexity (color realism > blackwork)
- Body area (ribs, neck = longer, more painful, more expensive)
- City and studio costs
How does the deposit work?
On InkMeet, each artist sets a deposit percentage (10% by default). It is collected at booking via Stripe, secured, and deducted from the final price. The artist receives 100% of the deposit (excluding service fees — InkMeet adds a transparent 5% fee (minimum €1.50) paid by the client on top of the deposit). It ensures commitment from both parties.
Should you tip your tattoo artist?
In France, tipping is appreciated but not required (10-20% if very satisfied). In North America, it's the norm (15-25%).
